Overview
This webinar will give you practical tools for the environmental management of asthma, a key component of the National Asthma Education and Prevention Program's (NAEPP) Guidelines for Diagnosis and Management of Asthma and one of the six priority messages for asthma control from the NAEPP's Guidelines Implementation Plan (GIP) Report. The NAEPP is coordinated by the National Lung, Heart and Blood Institute (NHLBI).
How will this webinar help my work?
This webinar will give an overview of asthma triggers and how to take an environmental history for a child with asthma. In addition, it will provide intervention strategies that pediatric health care providers can offer to their patients. The webinar will also introduce the National Environmental Education Foundation's (NEEF) user-friendly tool, "Environmental Management of Pediatric Asthma: Guidelines for Health Care Providers," which is founded upon the NAEPP guidelines.
Who will present?
Joel Forman, MD, Associate Professor of Pediatrics and Community and Preventive Medicine and Vice Chair for Education and Residency Program Director at the Department of Pediatrics, Mount Sinai School of Medicine. He is also one of NEEF's 10 Pediatric Asthma Faculty Champions who train other health care professionals across the country.
